Dublin–Lotka explorer
BES 550 Advanced Ecology · Population demographics
Starting from a life table of survivorship, l(a), and fertility, f(a), the app calculates R0, cohort generation time, and the intrinsic rate of increase. Students can change adult survival, fertility, or age at first breeding and compare the Dublin–Lotka approximation against the exact solution of the Euler–Lotka equation to see where the approximation breaks down.
